Oh boy do I wish I had taken a before picture! This my dear friends is my first finished project of the season. And yes, I am proud of it. It took me about a month to finish, but it was well worth it. It's not perfect but ya learn along the way.
First of all this nightstand was all white your basic wood composite material. I loved the detail on it, check out the rose situation. The adventure started when I thought I could just paint it over with wood stain and call it a day, big mistake. To get a somewhat satin dark wood finish, you must first paint it with a dark color, I used a Behr Premium Oxblood as a base after my snafu. Let it dry then go over it lightly with the wood stain. I used Minwax PolyShades in American Chestnut. The handles white because it looked 'cool' and I don't know how to paint metal -_-.
